Ages 6–8

Woodland Animal Coloring Pages

Free woodland coloring pages for ages 6–8, with patterns and a simple background.

These woodland pages are for about ages 6 to 8. Each picture is an animal in a simple scene, with smaller regions and a pattern. The lines stay thick enough to color. They are not another town scene.

The set includes a fox, an owl, a deer, a hedgehog, and a squirrel. Start with the fox or the deer if you want a pattern with a clear edge. Leave the hedgehog for a longer sitting.

The other ages 6–8 set is the town scene coloring pages. The step before this is the ocean scene coloring pages for ages 5–6. The animal coloring pages on the ages 3–4 shelf are the simple ones.

Color one kind of thing first, such as the tail stripes or the spots, then the trees. The picture looks finished in stages.

Every picture has a US Letter PDF and an A4 PDF. The printing guide covers the printer setting.

Questions parents ask

What age are these woodland pages for?

About ages 6 to 8. Each page has an animal, a pattern, and a simple background. The outlines stay bold enough to see on copy paper.

How are these different from the town scenes?

The town pages are buildings, windows, and streets. These are woods. A fox, an owl, a deer, a hedgehog, and a squirrel, each with a few trees or leaves behind them.

Which page should we start with?

The fox tail and the deer spots are the clearest patterns. The hedgehog spines take the longest because there are more of them.

Will a younger child manage them?

They can color the animal and skip the background. For big areas, use the ages 3–4 animal pages. For a few huge shapes, use the ages 2–3 first animal pages.
